Protective Caps for M8 Panel Connectors offer IP67 rating

Designed for use with Series 718 M8 panel connectors, Protective Caps provide IP67-rated environmental protection from liquids and debris for un-mated panel-mount sockets. Each protective cap attaches directly to panel-mounted connector through loop, eliminating need for screws. Protective caps are available for both male and female connectors. 

Binder-USA has released protective caps for its Series 718, M8 panel connectors. The caps provide IP67-rated environmental protection for un-mated panel-mount sockets. The M8 connectors are used for sensors in the automation industry.

Each protective cap attaches directly via a loop to the panel-mounted connector eliminating the need for screws. The cap is designed to provide an IP67-rated environmental protection from liquids and debris while the panel connector is detached from its mating connector. Angled M8 Connectors feature screw clamp termination

Available with 3 and 4 gold-plated contacts, Series 768 features screw clamp termination, which facilitates field assembly by eliminating requirements of special tooling. Connectors can withstand maximum of 60–30 V and up to 4 A per contact. Cables with overall diameter of 3.5–5 mm and wires between 26–20 AWG can be used. M8 Connectors target automation applications

The first products will be 3- and 4-pin female connectors, and a 4-pin version of the male connector. These connectors can be used to build a flexible I/O-connection on the circuit board. By employing surface-mount technology (SMT) termination, ERNI is enabling customers for the first time to consistently miniaturize their field devices.

Standard Interconnect Geometry The interconnect geometry complies with the IEC 61067-2-101 standard. When the connector is plugged in, its protection rating meets IP67 in accord with the IEC 61076-2-101 standard. The traditional range of applications includes connecting sensors and actuators in automation technology. Now, however, the space-saving M8 connectors are also being used for power-supply and bus connections where M12 connectors or others are too large. Unlike the M12 connectors, M8 connectors are coded only via the contact arrangement.

M8 Ruggedness the M8 connector's terminal connections have been made so robust that it is possible to feed in bulk material packaging using an appropriate vibration device.
